Portable Pulse Duplicator
The PPD simulates cardiac function and pressure/flow of the circulatory system. Additionally, the PPD is a prosthetic heart valve testing apparatus for both simulation testing and simulated use, the first of its kind that provides physiological pressure and flow without performance compromises.
A controller unit and custom-designed MITL computer software are available that allow for temperature control, inputting and adjusting the driving waveform and amplitude, pressure measurements at two different ports, and displacement measurements. Other capabilities include data recording and data analysis. PPD's unique features include:

Application Possibilities for the PPD and MPD
Both the PPD and MPD can be used anywhere in-vitro simulation of major circulation is needed. For example:
|
The MPD, a more powerful pump, can also be used in, but not limited to, the following applications:
|
MITL's MPD is a powerful in vitro pulsatile flow tester that has a modular design concept. The system simulates the hemodynamics of a human cardiac system and takes into account the viscosity of blood, arterial and ventricular pressure, arterial flow, and the peripheral and systemic resistance and compliance.
Like the PPD, the MPD is controlled by a computer using a MITL software that receives input and gives outputs from and to the MITL controller box, with many capabilities including data recording/analysis, easy adjustments of the driving waveform, temperature control, measurements of displacement, flow and pressure, etc. The MPD system is very versatile and can be adapted for many functions, including but not limited to:
MPD's most unique feature is:
There is no comparable product on the market today. Unlike other systems where the design limits the product’s application, our modular design allows for countless applications, where, like building blocks, specific modules can be added, rearranged or modified to meet different applications or testing needs.

- Evaluate hydrodynamic properties of prosthetic heart valves.

- Simulate physiological and pathological pressure and flow conditions of the circulatory system.
- Simulate the renal system.

Accelerated Wear Tester
Our load-controlled AWT can be used to test the durability of prosthetic heart valves and other cardiovascular devices like stents and percutaneous valves. AWT's unique features include:

Steady Flow Tester
MITL’s Steady Flow Tester is the first automated steady forward/leakage tester for prosthetic heart valve performance evaluation (as required by ISO 5840), generating flow rates of more than 30 L/min. With just a single click of a button, your test will be completed and a report will be generated automatically, saving you precious time.
